what we believe

Our Core Beliefs

Beliefs About God

There is one living, sovereign God eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Revelation 1:8, Isaiah 43:10-11; Deuteronomy 6:4; Colossians 1:16

Jesus was sent by the Father to live on earth. He was fully God and fully human yet had no sin. Jesus willingly laid down his life to pay the penalty for the world’s sin. After three days he rose from the grave. Jesus is the head of the church and will return to establish his kingdom and bring a final judgment.  Luke 1:31, 35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 1:18; Romans 14:10,12)

The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin and empower all those who believe in Jesus. He lives in every believer and is a constant helper, teacher and guide. John 14:16-17, 26; John 16:13-28

God has given us his inspired word (the Bible) to be our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; Psalms 19:7-8

Beliefs About People

God created people in his image – everyone is loved by God. Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 5:1-2

All people are born sinners and need God’s forgiveness. Romans 3:10, 23; Romans 5:8, 12; Acts 4:12

Those who confess and turn from their sin by trusting in Jesus Christ for forgiveness will be saved by God’s grace alone, and will become one of his children with the promise of eternal life. John 3:16-17; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9; 1 John 1:8-9

All believers in Jesus are to be a part of a local church to worship, grow in their faith, serve and tell others about the grace of God, so that more people can experience God’s forgiveness. Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:4-5; Ephesians 4:11-12; Hebrews 10:24-25
