our mission & values

Our purpose is to love God and love others. "He [Jesus] said to him, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39

At Village Point, we are empowered by God to fulfill our mission to point people to Christ. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

  • Connecting With God

Jesus Christ alone makes connecting with God possible through His grace. We stay connected with God by participating in corporate worship, seeking God in prayer and spending quiet time alone with God each day.

“I [Jesus] am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.”  John 15:5

  • growing in christ-likeness

Following Jesus is a lifelong journey. We can grow to be more like Jesus when we truly know who he is. Spending time with each other to study the Bible, pray and serve others can help us become more Christ-like in our attitudes and actions.

“Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children, and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.” Ephesians 5:2

  • Building Authentic Relationships

Our day-to-day relationship with Jesus should influence our relationships with others – real, sincere and authentic. At Village Point Church we want all who attend to know they are loved, and to help them find true friendship with God and others.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer…. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.” Acts 2:42, 45

  • Serving Generously

When we understand the depth of God’s generous love for us through the work of Jesus on the cross, we respond by using everything we have for his glory and for the benefit of others. We serve others generously as an opportunity to share his love and to point others to Christ.

“Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need.”  Acts 2:45

  • Living On Mission

As followers of Jesus Christ, we have a mission to accomplish. The mission is to be intentional about living out the Gospel and pointing others to Christ anywhere we can, in any way we can. We should live on mission because people need to hear the good news of Jesus.

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you.”  Matthew 28:18-20
