Dear Village Point Church Family,
You may have already received a letter and/or email sent out yesterday indicating that we were going to be holding services this Sunday. However, due to the recent events of the last two days:
- President Trump declaring the COVID-19 Virus a National Emergency
- Governor Pritzker’s declaration of a state of disaster and closing all state schools until March 30
- Our local Elk Grove Government cancelling all non-essential meetings and activities and closing some facilities including the Park District and Library
- The CDC’s recommendation for people to keep a 6ft distance from one another to prevent the spread of the disease
We feel it is prudent not to gather in our building, but to gather together online only for at least the next 3 Sundays (March 15, 22, 29). You can Livestream the Worship Services beginning tomorrow at 10:30 A.M. at villagepoint.church/livestream.
This is new for all of us but we ask you to use this time to continue to pray and tell others to join us via Livestream. As you know the church is really the people of God and not just a building. So even though we may not be meeting together the next few weeks we are still the church. That said, we hope to be meeting back together in our building on Palm Sunday April 5 at our usual time.
Out of love and concern for you, your family and our community, we are cancelling all our services for the remainder of March including Sunday school, Wednesday night activities, Life Groups and the Third Thursday Prayer. We will keep you informed of any updates and look forward to finding ways to connect with you via email during the week. You can also check the COVID-19 News page on our website for updates.
Please continue to pray for our world, our country and our neighbors.
Serving Christ Together,
Village Point Church Elders
